I’m currently working towards earning my Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Information Technology, with a focus on Cybersecurity. This is a major career transition for me, as I’m making the switch after nearly 10 years in construction management. My time in the construction industry has provided me with a solid foundation in problem-solving, project coordination, and attention to detail—skills I’m eager to apply in the world of IT.

 

As I dive deeper into my studies, I’m gaining hands-on experience in areas like network security, risk management, and threat analysis. I’m particularly excited about the fast-paced, ever-evolving nature of cybersecurity and the opportunity to help protect organizations from digital threats. The challenge of securing vital information systems and ensuring that data remains safe really resonates with me, and it’s a field I’m passionate about pursuing.

 

Though my background is in construction management, I’m confident that the transferable skills I’ve developed—like leadership, critical thinking, and managing complex projects—will serve me well in my new career.
